Pungro, January 7 (MExN): The Public Forum Pungro Sub-Division (PFPSD) today expressed shock at the press statement of civil society organizations (CSOs) of Kiphire district, namely United Sangtam Likhum Pumji (USLP), Eastern Sumi Hoho (ESH), Tikhir Tribal Council (TTC), GBs and intending candidates, where they agreed to allow the intending candidates to file nominations for the ensuing Pungro Town Council (PTC) election. Terming the decision “unjustified”, PFPSD in a press statement asserted that the Pungro Town Council election in no way falls under the preview of the CSOs of Kiphire to take any decision. It also reminded that the ENPO has endorsed the tribal councils to take own decision for town council elections within its jurisdiction.
