Pfutsero: Random testing from September 6

Phek, September 3 (MExN): In view of rapid increase of COVID-19 positive cases at Pfutsero Town, it has been informed that random testing of will be held from September 6 to 10 at Community Health Centre, Pfutsero for those persons who have not taken the vaccine.

The random testing will be conducted on the target groups which consists of teachers, shopkeepers, pharmacists, taxi drivers (both regional & local taxi drivers), construction workers, truck drivers (plying to & from Pfutsero-Dimapur), public leaders and colony leaders, church workers and government employees, as per a DIPR report.

The random testing will be conducted as an urgent measure to break the cycle of possible community transmission, in the interest of public health and safety and in compliance to government standing orders.

In this regard, all concerned have been directed to extend full cooperation.

Further, traders and drivers have been directed to display COVID-19 negative test reports or status of vaccination on shops and vehicles.

“Any person failing to produce valid COVID-19 test results during checking shall be prosecuted as per the provision of Section 51 & 60 of the National Disaster Management Act, 2005 besides legal action under Section 188 of the IPC,” the DIPR report added.
