PGC annual sports week ‘autumn fest held

Phek, November 10 (MExN): Phek Government College (PGC) held its annual sports week ‘autumn fest”, from November 6 to 8, at its newly refurbished college’s playground.   A press release issued by Temjenmeren Jamir, Member, Media Cell, PGC stated that the Autumn Fest 2018 was marked with a flurry of activities which included an amusement corner, a play jail, song dedications and nail biting games and sports providing entertainment not only to the players alone, but also to the whole of the College fraternity.   Opening the first edition of Autumn Fest as the guest of Honour, Dr. Vizovol Mekro, Principal, PGC, encouraged the students to actively participate in extracurricular activities for all round development and not only concentrating on studies alone. He also urged the students to emulate the conducts of top universities while organising any events to make it grand and enjoyable.   Four houses, Ares (Blue), Erra (Green), Mars (Red) and Tyr (Yellow) vied with each other for the coveted 1st position with Ares leaving the rest behind with 47 points, inching closely behind its heels, Tyr finished second, while Mars and Erra were placed at the third and the fourth position respectively.   The three day event culminated with a brief closing and prize distribution ceremony with the Principal thanking everyone for successfully conducting the event and promises to make the festival grander in the coming years.
