PGOA members called to be guardian of Phom society

Longleng, April 18 (DIPR): The Phom Gazetted Officers’ Association (PGOA) held its 2nd General Session on April 15 in the PPC hall Longleng where Parliamentary Secretary RD & REPA Nagaland, S. Pangnyu Phom graced the function as the Chief Guest.
The Parliamentary Secretary, S. Pangnyu Phom in his speech called upon the PGOA members to be the guardian of the Phom society. He also called upon them to have co-ordination and co-operation among the Phom officers and legislators. The Chief Guest also urged the Phom officers to bring good name to the Phom community through their sincere and dedicated service in their given profession.
The Parliamentary Secretary, TPT & Mechanical Engineering Nagaland, P. Dako Phom who was the special speaker of the session also presented the Road map for the PGOA on the theme “ Challenges ahead”. He called upon them for total paradigm shift in the overall social structure and working pattern of the Phoms in all aspects. He challenged the PGOA to take the lead towards this perspective.
Others who also spoke on the occasion included President PPC,  B. Hamnyei; President APGO, B. Shri Manpong Phom, and T. Imdong Phom, Dy. Dir (Rtd). During the occasion a book titled ‘Laa-ngan’ (Phom Poetry) written by C. Bhupom DHO and music CD of C. Bakup was also released.
Earlier the function began with a Bible reading and prayer rendered by Y. Nuklu Phom Executive Secy. PBCA while welcome address was delivered by Y. Denngan Avenoho, President PGOA. Vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Kongyan Vice President PGOA, and benediction was offered by Longnyei Retired DFO. Other highlights of the programme included presentation of special songs by C. Bakup Phom, B. Henok Buchem SDO(C) and Cross Road Band Longleng.
