PH appeals for full-fledged SBI facility at Meluri

Dimapur, Dimapur 15 (MExN): The Pochury Hoho today appealed the State Bank of India for a full-fledged facility at Meluri Branch in order cater the citizens of Meluri town and its surrounding areas.  

Meluri Town is an ADC headquarters comprising of 40 villages including the surrounding neighbours, includind the bordering Manipur Villages.  

In a memorandum addressed to Assistant General Manager, the Regional Bank Office, State Bank of India, released to media here by its President Penthü Pochury General Secretary, Er.Vichutho Nyusou, it said that that due to limited facilities, the populace of the town are facing severe hardship.  

“On behalf of the Meluri Town dwellers(30 departments and its employees,10 Educational schools,16 Prominent NGOs,16 churches &a Mandir/Masjid), the Pensioners Association Meluri Block, Business Union Meluri Town etc and the rural farmers of Meluri Sub-Division, we would like to pursue for a full staff facility for SBI Meluri Branch in order to cater the needs and attend the welfare of the customers in hassle free environment,” it said  

The customers are also facing the grudge of demonetization with unending queue of customers for withdrawals, deposits and other customer cares services, it maintained adding that long overdue or pending fresh opening accounts of zero balance,Jhan Dhan Yojna etc are also some common concern.  

In this regard, the Hoho also appealed for an ATM facility at Main Town area or towards Avangkhung and Kiphire junction to lighten the public burden.   There was also cash Officer in 2014 but there is no reliever or replacement till date, it said appealing for a strong positive response from the concerned authority regarding the same.  

The slow and regular breaks down of internet facility at the office also need rectification, it added adding that public were apprehensive and “scared” that the policy of the central Government to facilitate through DBT for all the welfare schemes of the poor would fail to reach in the far-flung due to lack of proper facilities.  

It will cost very dearly to those who had to bear the brunt untold hardships and stories of isolationism, it said.
