Dr Kevi Sekhose giving health talks during the awareness programme on various adolescent health issues at schools on August 23.

Phek, August 23 (MExN): The Dzulhami Primary Health Centre (PHC) under Chozuba block conducted awareness programme on various adolescent health issues at schools on August 23.
The programme was led by Dr Kevi Sekhose, Medical Officer, PHC Dzulhami along with health staff and Anganwadi Workers, Kutolu Nakro, District Media Officer NHM Phek stated in a press release.
Giving importance on Adolescent Health the MO and team has given health talks on the importance of Menstrual Hygiene, personal hygiene and sex education.
The team conducted a separate health awareness talks on menstrual hygiene and sex education to girl students from 12 years of age and above. Educating them is important as mismanagement of periods can lead to many health complications. Emphasising importance of giving sex education to adolescents as it informs students about reproductive health, related organs, sexually transmitted diseases and protect them from misconceptions about various sex-related issues, it stated.
During the awareness activity, the students were also informed on the importance of taking Albendazole tablet as it treats infections caused by worms.
