Wokha, November 1 (MExN): The Primary Health Centre (PHC) Wozhuro in Wokha district commemorated 25 years of its establishment with the unveiling of a Silver Jubilee plaque by Dr E Motsuthung Patton, Principal Director of the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Nagaland, on October 29.
Dr Zubenthung Kikon, Chief Medical Officer of Wokha, was also present at the occasion, while Rev. Rapvuo Odyuo, Former Pastor of Phiro Baptist Church, pronounced a dedicatory prayer for the plaque.
Speaking at the event, Dr Patton expressed gratitude to all the medical officers and staff who have worked tirelessly to ensure the smooth functioning of the health centre since its inception in 1999. He also extended deep appreciation to the landowners who generously donated land for the health centre, highlighting their immense contribution to the community.
CMO Wokha, Dr Kikon, sought cooperation from the community to further enhance health services. He noted that the silver jubilee celebration has brought the community together and appreciated the landowners for clearing the jungle at the health centre premises.
The programme was chaired by Dr.Renathung M. Kithan, Medical Officer PHC Wozhuro was attended by medical staffs, Wozhuro Range Council Union Chairman; YanbemoTungoe, Chairman land donors, Myinthungo Khuvung; Dr N MhabemoKithan, Former Director, medical department; HCMC Chairman Chumbenthung Khuvung; Meriyan Village Chairman Alow Khuvung; civil society leaders from Totsu, Shaki, Phiro, Sankiton, L Yanthung and village community members.
