PHED bids farewell to Addl. Chief Engineer

Kohima, March 1 (MExN): PHED held a farewell function in honour of the retiring Additional Chief Engineer, Er. J Walter Longchar on Febraury 28 at PHED Directorate Office, Kohima.  

Er. Longchar joined the Dept. as SDO in 1985 and retired on attaining Superannuation of age, a PHED release said. In his farewell speech, the Engineer thanked the Officers and staff for the support and friendship that he received during the course of his career and said that the department during the past few had made much progress in all fronts especially in the area of personal management and expressed optimism that a high standard of performance would continue in future, it said.  

The Commissioner & Secy. in his speech lauded the high level of committed service by the outgoing Officer and expressed hope that he would continue to scale higher in the service of the people after retirement.

Er. Kevisekho Kruse, Chief Engineer speaking on behalf of the Department said that Er. Longchar had served with distinction and integrity for nearly 32 years and the speed and the manner in which he administered personal management were particularly laudable.  

Er. Yhusinlo Tep, the in-coming Addl. Chief Engineer and Er. Khetoi, Executive Engineer & President of Association of PHE Engineers also spoke at the function. Er Mezivil Kikhi, SDO and PHED staff presented farewell songs while vote of thanks was pronounced by Er Repang Longkumer, SE (M&I) and the function was chaired by Er K.G.Sumi, Director, WSSO,PHED.
