Kiphire, May 6 (MExN): The Principal Secretary PHED, E Mhonbemo Patton, Chief Engineer & HoD PHED and other department officers during a three-day visit to Aspirational District, Kiphire, inspected various developmental schemes which were implemented under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) and Swacchh Bharat Mission – Grameen (SBM-G), the flagship programmes of GoI to achieve the Sustainable Development Goal of Clean water and Sanitation for all.
They visited 12 villages in 5 different blocks under Kiphire District, stated a press release.
The Principal Secretary encouraged the village communities to work for the sustainability of various Government assets constructed under different programmes. He also appreciated the keen initiatives and cooperation of village community towards JJM and SBM works and urged them to provide continuous support even in the days to come.
The Chief Engineer highlighted the principles and technical aspects of JJM to the village WATSAN Committees and urged them to render their services for continuous operation and maintenance to ensure long term sustainability of the assets. He also urged all stake holders including the department to complete the ongoing works within the given timelines.
