Phek administration and MSK visit jail inmates & children homes

Phek, March 1 (MExN): The Phek district administration and district level centre for women - Mahila Shakti Kendra (MSK), Phek conducted a visit to jail inmates and children homes on February 21 last at Phek under the banner of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) scheme.

They visited three children homes and Phek district Jail by distributing gift pack to children and jail inmates. During the visitation, Bhavani Sri, SDO (civil) and Nodal Officer, BBBP Phek encouraged the inmates to learn from their mistakes and live a transformed life.

She also appreciated the initiative taken by jail authority to train and employ the inmates in various handicrafts and bamboo products.

The team also visited Vision Shelter Home, Versatile Children Home Society and Observation Home.

During the visitations, Vileno Kapu WWO, DLCW- Mahila Shakti Kendra Phek encouraged the children not to lose heart but stay strong and excel in whatever they do.
