Phek citizens run for clean E-Roll & election

Phek, December 5 (MExN): A half-marathon race was held from Phek clock tower to local ground with the theme “Awareness on Clean Electoral Roll and Clean election’ on December 5 as a part of the Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) awareness campaign.

In men’s senior category, the 1st position went to Putuve Lea while Shekhotso Khamo and Vechipo Rhakho were 2nd and 3rd respectively.  

In men’s junior category, Hupa Puro emerged winner followed by Tseivo Tetseo and  Luvezo Rhakho.

In women’s category Vesutolu was the winner. Pane Movi and  Mulutolu Venuh were 2nd and 3rd respectively.  The oldest participant at the event was 46-year-old Vesupra Vero and the  youngest was 8-year-old Saba. 

Meanwhile, Phek Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer, Sachin Jaiswal, who flagged-off the race, spoke on the importance of electoral roll where every citizens should enroll on attaining the age of 18 years. 

He stressed on summary revision and called upon the people to availed the opportunity, informed a DIPR report. 

Additional Deputy Commissioner & ERO Tsuktimar Jamir also spoke on voter education which needs to be imparted to one and all, it added.
