Phek, May 7 (MExN): The Phek District Bar Association held its first General Body Meeting (GBM) at Hotel Pine, Kohima. Various agendas for the welfare of the Advocates from Phek district in particular and the professional fraternity in general were put forward by the members present and resolutions were adopted for further necessary steps in the functioning of the District Court, Phek; setting up of Bar Library. In respect of affiliation to Nagaland Bar Association, it was decided that resolution will be taken up by the house as and when circumstances arise and till such time the matter will be kept in abeyance, according to a press release from Advocate Pfukhrulhi Khupfuh, President and Advocate Mamang Singson, General Secretary of Phek District Bar Association.
Earlier, the session for adoption of the Constitution was initiated by Vice President, Advocate Vesokho Nyekha whereby the house unanimously approved the Constitution for adoption after a meticulous deliberation of the draft, the release added. The meeting was chaired by the Association’s General Secretary Mamang Singson, while the prayer was invoked by Advocate V. Ashu Theyo.
