Phek, November 11 (MExN): The District Core Committee in Phek has finalised a series of events to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, in line with a directive from the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports.
A meeting was held on November 6 under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner to plan the commemorative programs aimed at fostering national pride and strengthening the spirit of unity among the youth.
As part of the celebrations, an essay writing competition will be held on November 14, followed by a cleanliness drive on November 15. The first 'Sardar @ 150 Unity March' (Padyatra) is scheduled for November 15 from 8:00 AM, starting from the Clock Tower to the Town Hall in Phek, with participation from students and youths.
A second unity march will be held on November 19 from the DC Office Phek to the Public Ground, Phek Town, involving government employees, colony and ward leaders, and the general public.
