KOHIMA, NOVEMBER 1 (MExN): The State level quiz competition was held on at ATI Imagine Hall, Kohima on November 1 with Home Commissioner & Chief Electoral Officer, VYasan R as the special guest.

During his address, Vyasan R said parliamentary quiz is important for students because it helps to understand the parliamentary procedure and the role of parliament in society. A parliament is a crucial institution that plays a vital role in democratic governance and serves as the voice of the people, representing their interests and concerns. Without a parliament, a country would lack a forum for open debates, lawmaking, and executive oversight, which are essential for a functional democracy.

Encouraging students to explore more on parliamentary working procedure to equip and gain better understanding on how parliament functions, Vyasan underscored that it can help them in developing their leadership skills and learn to respect others' views and understand the importance of following rules. He also motivated the students to have self confidence and to be hard working on whatever work they do in order to strive in this competitive world where only the best will survive.

The competition concluded with Phek district taking home the first prize, followed by Peren in second place, Dimapur in third, and Tseminyu in fourth.
