Phek DPDB meet: Legislators urge members to be regular in station

Phek, August 24 (MExN): The Phek District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held on August 24 at its conference hall, Phek.  

All the legislators from Phek district attended the meeting and urged the members to be regular in station and also abide by the rule of law, which they said is a must for the people in particular and the district in general, stated a DIPR report. Multiple landslides have occurred in many places this year; therefore, departments concerned were requested to help out especially in vehicular movement.  

Speaking against corruption, they also called upon the members to be trustworthy. The legislators also stressed that good teachers need to be awarded so they can dedicate more in imparting education to the children. They further spoke on the importance of road and power, which is the lifeline of the people. The house agreed to construct a resting shed at Avakhung between Manguti village and decided to recommend it.  

The meeting also recommended the security fencing and toilet at Government Higher Secondary School, Meluri, establishment of college at Chozuba Town, and weekly helicopter service from Dimapur to Meluri. The house also approved LADP for year 2018- 19 schemes.  

Departmental activities were also presented by departments of Art & Culture and Youth Resources & Sports, Phek.
