Phek GB’s association appeals for proper execution of SARDP project

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 20 (MExN): The Phek district GB’s association, while appreciating the Ministry of Road Transport and National Highways for undertaking the last abandoned road projects under SARDP-NE, has cautioned that “those firms responsible for the failure of the new project will be strongly dealt with.”

A press note from the association meanwhile expressed support to the Contractors Union of Phek District as far as execution of the work is concerned. It informed especially Madhucon Company/Shivalaya Construction and KKB company “not to further sublet the work project, especially the 2 Lane Road from 0 Point to Zunheboto & Pfutsero to Phek Road as such sub-lettings will result in undesirable outcome and bad workmanship.”

“We will not tolerate any policy that will be detrimental to development activities. Though we are technically unaware if such project should be further sublet or not, but it is our desire that the Phek District Contractor Union be consulted as they have every right and are the right body for such consultations before any decision takes place,” it added.

“All what we desire is a successful completion of the project and not another abandoned one which has caused immense hardship to the public,” it stated. The association appealed to all groups/parties /unions or any individual to refrain from making any type of demands/percentage etc “as such roads are crucial infrastructures in making our society grow.”
