Phek inter-colony tournament underway

DIMAPUR, JANUARY 8 (MExN): The 16th Edition of the Phek Town Inter-colony tournament cum Sukrunye organized by the Phek Town Youth Society (PTYS) kicked started today at local ground Phek Town with Vesupra Kezo, Superintendant of Police, Phek gracing the inaugural function as tournament guest under the theme “Forging Excellence”.

Speaking on the inaugural programme, Kezo lauded the Phek Town Youth Society (PTYS) for persistently organizing a huge inter colony tournament in every two year where youths can showcase sporting talents. 

Earlier, the programme was chaired by Shekhozo Rhakho, Advisor PTYS, welcome note was delivered by Neizote Venuh, president Phek Town Youth Society and Rev. Novosayi Vese, Pastor BHBC invoked a God’s blessings. 

A special number presented by Kukhruno Khamo. Oath taking was administered by Nuvota Tsutso, games and sports secretary, PTYS. 

Altogether, 11 colonies are participating in the tournament. The tournament will go on till January 15 amalgamate with Sukrunye festival where Dr. Kuvezochi Hoshi, general secretary (Central), NDPP will grace as the Sukrunye guest on January 15.
