Phek launches angikaar campaign under Swachhata Hi Seva

Phek, October 6 (MExN): The launching of angikaar campaign under Swachhata Hi Seva was held in Phek Town on October 2 at DC conference hall.


The colonies chairman, GBs, beneficiaries of Ujjwala, Ayushman bharat, Health Insurance and youth of Phek town attended the launching program, stated a press release.


Sachin Jaiswal, IAS Deputy Commissioner on his keynote address urged the citizens to get rid of single use plastic from their houses, offices and work space.


He also appreciated the people of Phek town for their positive response in dealing with the menace of plastic on the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Ghandi and took a pledge with all the participants to uphold cleanliness and to keep the town clean, healthy and litter-free from this day onwards.


During the programme, Suyieveto Lohe, member of Swachh Bharat Mission Phek and Keyirangding Hegui, Project Director DRDA Phek also delivered a short speech on Swachhata Hi Seva drawing the people’s attention to the hazardous effects of such plastics for the human and whole environment.


Meanwhile, Jerico- II colony and Zion colony were awarded for the collection of highest quantity of plastic waste with certificate and cash. Khrukulu Rhakho shared her experience on plogging of plastic waste. Participants took angikaar march towards the Clock tower for change of management.


The programme was chaired by Namang Sepong Chang, Administrator PTC, and invocation was pronounced by Vetsuo, Hebron-II Colony Youth President.
