Phek: Medical officers oriented on health care

Phek, March 1 (MExN): An orientation workshop on Comprehensive Primary Health Care (CPHC) -HWC was conducted on February 28 at CMO conference hall, Phek.
The workshop was conducted by the State team from Directorate of Health & Family Welfare Kohima headed by State Program Officer NHM cum Nodal Officer of Health & Wellness Centre, Dr Thanghoi Lam along with Program Officer-HWC RK Pairson and Program Manager-HWC NHM Kevin.
As per a press release from district media officer, Phek, its main objective was to orient the medical officers of the Primary Health Centre (PHC) which has been upgraded to HWC, so that the centres are envisaged to deliver expanded range services that go beyond maternal and child health care services which include care for non-communicable disease, mental health, oral care etc.
Discussion session was also carried out where the health units’ challenges and grievances were apprised to the team.
To operationalize the HWC activities, Dr Thanghoi instructed the health units to start screening for NCD, report daily, and increase the number of OPD and lap-test. He also encouraged the MOs to be sincere and regular in their duties so as to strengthen the health care services.
During the practical session, Kevin imparted the medical officers on how to upload the report in the portal.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Dr Ruokuohelie Rutsa DTO, Phek while the welcome address was delivered by Dr Vethihulu Deputy Chief Medical Officer. Sede, DPM NHM Phek delivered the vote of thanks.
