Phek, February 20 (MExN): With the anticipation to “conduct peaceful election and to curb the menace in the society,” the Chakhesang Mothers’ Association has organized mothers in groups to set up check gates in their respective areas and villages to check the inflow of intoxicating liquors into Phek district.
“The mothers groups have seized a number of liquor in the gates. The mothers sacrifice their energy, time and resources to save our people from the destruction of alcohol,” Rev. Dr. Vezopa Tetseo, Executive Secretary, CBCC stated in an appreciative note.
In addition to this, the Pfütsero Town Mothers Association along with police, Dobashis, youth and Chairman of the colonies conducted a surprise checking of liquor sold in various locations. A huge quantity of illegal liquor worth 6 lakhs was seized and destroyed in the presence of police and administration.
The Chakhesang Baptist Church Council has expressed appreciation to the mothers association, youth, and chairperson of all colonies, dobashis, administrative officers, police, and all the people who helped in checking sale of liquor.
