PHEK, JUNE 30 (DIPR): The monthly meeting of Phek DPDB meeting was held on June 28. The New ADC Wezope Kenye on behalf of the DPDB assured good will and support of the Board. Addressing the Board, he said that the mindset of the people have changed which is necessary for building a better society. He called upon the law keeping forces including the judiciary to shoulder together the responsibility for safeguarding peace in the land for speedy and progressive development of the state.
The new DC, Maongwati Aier highlighted his meeting with the Chief Minister and emphasized the necessity to improve for implementation of various departmental schemes in the district. He expressed the need to give priority for improvement of all weather district road and better road connectivity in the district. He cautioned the officers to be vigilant against the fraudulent withdrawal of GPF and pension as he had already detected such two cases recently the recovered money which he deposited in the Phek sub-treasury.
Minister for Agriculture, Kuzholuzo also welcomed the new DC and ADC Phek on behalf of the people of Phek constituency and also on behalf of Phek district.
After review of the last meeting minutes the house recommended the following approval:
1. The proposal for recognition of public of Tüsürü Mission School, Rüzhazo.
2. Recommended for approval for up-gradation of two schools
i) Christ Model School, Dzülhami from class 6 to 8,
ii) GPS Hutsü to Government Middle School.
3. Recommended for grant in aid to 26 schools under Phek district.
4. Approved the proposal of opening new DIS Office at Chizami.
The Board awarded Rs 5000/- each to Vezokholü Khamo of Phek College and Neikhu of Nazareth School Pfutsero for securing highest mark in “Geology in HSLC” exam and in advanced English in HSLC exam 2007 respectively.
Departments of Agriculture, Veterinary & Animal Husbandry, Horticulture, Forest and Land Resources presented their respective Department profiles and activities. The departments of Soil and Water Conservation, RD (DRDA), Irrigation, Sericulture, Fisheries are to present the same in the next DPDB meeting. The board also expressed wishes to hear from education about their various activities and from Industries, R&B, Medical and Labour Department.
Home Minister, Thenucho requested the board members to submit the various achievements of their respective Departments to be produced in a form of book to be shown in the coming Independence Day. He said that DPDB is as good as a mini Assembly and the code of dressing in the next DPDB meeting would be formal. He also said the board members should be courteous and vigilant not only for fraudulent drawal but also of fake currency circulation which is floating at large. Lastly he wished the members safe return to their respective homes and towns.
Home Minister, Thenucho who is also the chairman of the DPDB chaired the meeting which was also attended by Minister for Agriculture, Kuzholuzo Neinu and Deputy Chairman of State Planning Board, Deo Nukhu. At the outset, the Chairman welcomed the new DC, Maongwati Aier.
