Phek Police launches ‘Project RAKSHAK-2’ to boost traffic safety, crime prevention

PHEK, JULY 17 (MExN): Phek Police has launched ‘Project RAKSHAK-2’ aimed at improving road safety, traffic regulation, and crime prevention in Phek town, under the initiative of Superintendent of Police Dr Pritpal Kaur, IPS.

As part of the project, installation and monitoring of CCTVs across Phek town has begun, along with the installation of 60 road dividers at key roads and junctions, officials said in a release on Frid day.

The road divider installation was carried out by the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Phek, Officer-in-Charge of Phek Police Station, and their team, in coordination with the Phek Town Chamber of Commerce and Industries (PTCCI), Phek Town Students’ Union (PTYSU), and other community organisations.

In addition, regular seminars on traffic rules and regulations are being organised for drivers and passengers, with coordinated efforts involving the district administration, transport department, and NGOs.

SP Phek Dr Pritpal Kaur said that Project RAKSHAK-2 is expected to contribute to the prevention of road accidents, timely saving of lives, and enhanced crime investigation through improved surveillance.

More CCTVs will be installed in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce, and similar initiatives are planned for Phutsero town in the next phase, including installation of CCTVs and road dividers, the release added.
