Phek seeks restoration of NST normal service

Phek | March 29 : Commuters from Phek to Dimapur are facing difficulty as the Nagaland State Transport (NST) bus night service has been scheduled on alternate days by the department. Reliable sources have informed that as per the provision set aside for the district head quarter town, regular bus for night service was provided to the people of the town which catered commuters from the entire neighboring villages, however, the regular service of the same was put to a halt for the last a month.
Talking to the Morung Express, the President of Phek Chamber of Commerce & Industries (PCCI), Murhaveyi Khesoh, said: ‘The said service which provides beneficial for the people of the town and the neighboring villages as well specially paving a new gateway for the traders’ was put to a halt without any proper rhymes and reasons by the concerned authority.”
To commission the regular service, two buses were provide by the “higher ups”, however following the need for a bus in Meluri sub-division town, one bus was provided to the sub-station under the condition of emergency situation, leaving Phek to opt for alternate service for the time, Khesoh stated. The PCCI however expressing its resentment that even after a gap of more than a month, no normal restoration has been made till date.
Lamenting the officer in charge of the Phek station for being very irregular, the PCCI stated that the officer in charge was never found to be in station and while enquiring the present staff, the PCCI was asked to approach the General Manager (GM) Dimapur for the fulfillment of their demand.
Terming the response of the authority concerned as an “insult and sabotaging the public” the PCCI urged the higher authority to do the needful at the earliest, thereby easing the tension of the public before it confronts agitation. The PCCI has warned that failing to restore regular bus service with immediate effect, the PCCI shall carry out its own course of actions and will not be responsible for if any untoward rather the concerned authority shall be sole responsible of whatsoever it arises.`
