Phek Town declared plastic free, smoking free

MLA Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu today formally declared Phek Town as plastic free, smoking free & eco-friendly town. The declaration was part of Clean-Green Operation initiated by Phek Town Youth Society (PTYS).  

During the declaration ceremony held at Hospital Junction here, MLA Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu, who was the special guest, lauded the PTYS for initiating the first of its kind program and bringing various changes in the town. He said cleanliness plays a very important role to maintain healthy life; it keeps people away from diseases and sickness. Azo also opined that the best method to clean up the town is through application of civic sense. He also asked the citizens of the town to take up the responsibility and take the ownership to maintain a clean town for healthy environment.

 The MLA further maintained that one should keep one's heart and mind clean, while lamenting “our society does not have rooms for appreciation even when someone does good deeds.” Stating that appreciation is a strong tool of inspiration towards achieving greater heights, he called upon the gathering to learn how to appreciate others for any good jobs being rendered to the society.  

Nuyi Hoshi, Convener, CGO chaired the programme, Vehuta Rhakho, President, Phek Town Public Welfare Forum exhorted the gathering.
