KOHIMA, DECEMBER 3 (MExN): The Phesama Youth Organisation, along with the Phesama Village, has announced steps to address the traffic congestion and transportation issues faced by both domestic and international visitors during the Hornbill Festival at Kisama.
In an effort to alleviate these concerns, the Phesama Youth Organisation in a press release informed that it will provide parking facilities at Phesama Local Ground, situated just 1 kilometer before Kisama, along National Highway 29. This new parking area is operational from December 3 to ensure that visitors can easily access the festival without the hindrance of traffic congestion.
The parking will be free of charge for all vehicles, but the PYO and the villagers will not be held responsible for any vehicles parked along the National Highway 29. Additionally, it will arrange for ferry vehicles to shuttle visitors between Phesama Local Ground and the Kisama main gate, ensuring smooth transport to and from the festival site.
Ferry services will be available at a nominal fee of Rs 20 per person for each trip, both from Phesama Local Ground to Kisama and vice versa. Mobile charging points, free water, and bathroom facilities will also be provided at the parking area, the press release added.
