PHH: ANFPSA says has reached understanding with govt over transportation and handling charge

Dimapur, April 15 (MExN): The All Nagaland Fair Price Shop Association (ANFPSA) and the Department of Food & Civil Supplies have come to an understanding regarding the transportation and handling charge of Priority Household (PHH) scheme under National Food Security Act (NFSA) 2013, according to a press release from ANFPSA.  

It informed that following the letter from the State Government Dated Dimapur, the 12th April 2018, No. DS/PDS/FPS/206/2015-16/717, ANFPSA and Food & Civil Supplies department led by its Director had lengthy deliberation at the Director’s office in Dimapur and “amicably come to mutual understanding in regards to the transportation & handling charge of PHH scheme under National Food Security Act (NFSA) 2013.”  

The association has lauded the “timely intervention and positive response” of the State Government under the leadership of Chief Minister and Advisor (FCI) and the entire staff of the department, giving assurance to release the transportation and handling charges due in phase wise within a month or two.   The statement from ANFPSA president, Hotoshe Sumi and general secretary, M. Gonmei meanwhile called upon the Food & Civil Supplies department to further make necessary groundwork at the earliest and reimburse the remaining payable amount in due course of time, thereby, avoid future differences and misunderstanding between the department and the association.  

Emergency meeting on April 20

Further, ANFPSA informed all its district unit presidents and general secretaries to attend the emergency meeting convened on April 20 at Nagaland Contractors’ & Suppliers’ Union, Dimapur office near PWD office at 11:00 am to discuss issues relating to the association and respective district offices.
