Wokha, September 3 (MExN): Two days Philatelic exhibition, Wokha Pex-2023 organized by the Department of Posts, Nagaland division concluded on September 2, which was held at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School (DBHSS), Wokha.

Fr CT Varghese, Rector, DBHSS, Wokha gracing the prize distribution event as the guest of honour expressed gratitude to the Department of Post for organizing the event in sharing history and the importance of how the transition came along the way through change of time. He said that the stamp depicts the era and its significance associated with history.

A total of 451 students from various schools in Wokha participated in the exhibition, which included letter writing, stamp designs etc. Invitees and students displayed their stamp collection during the two days event.

In the category of philately exhibition, Ovungbeni M Ngullie of DBHSS claimed the gold medal; Ejonshani N Odyuo group ‘A’ category (class 7 and below) from DBHSS; and Ayimong E Yanthan of Fernbrook School Wokha in group ‘B’ category (class 8 to 10) claimed the stamps design gold medal award; Nongothung Mozhui Bethesda School in group ‘A’ category (class 7 and below) and Yantsurhoni Lotha Perennial School Wokha in group ‘B’ category (class 8 to 10) claimed the letter writing envelope category; while Chonbeni Z Ezung of Fernbrook School group ‘A’ category (class 8 and below) and Mhonlumi M Patton of Fernbrook school in group ‘B’ category (class 9 and above) claimed the gold medal in the inland letter card writing category. Silver and Brown medals and consolation prizes were awarded to all the categories with cash and certificates.

L Tiken Singh, Superintendent of Posts, Nagaland Division and Suman Deb, Assistant Engineer, Civil Wing Silchar were among the judges of the event.

The prize distribution ceremony was hosted by Daniel Domeh, while students of DBHSS Wokha presented a choral song and vote of thanks was said by Sharon Losu.
