Two days training on skill upgradation on photography concludes
Kohima, June 15 (MExN): The two days training on skill upgradation on photography concluded with Advisor SCERT, IPR & Village Guards Toshi Wungtong gracing the valedictory programme at DIPR conference hall, Kohima on June 15.
“Photography is a powerful language as it can convey things around you, thoughts and unspoken languages,” said Advisor SCERT, IPR & Village Guards Toshi Wungtong exhorting the participants at the valedictory programme. He opined that photographers are very powerful speaker as they project the image of government and can also create opinions through their photos.
Also a keen photographer himself he said that it is a wonderful experience to be a photographer and narrated experiences where he captured photos of moments of conflicts, tears, joy and photos applicable for all occasions. He also said that it is not easy to be a photographer as they experience challenges, difficulties and risk while capturing such moments.
‘No writing is enough without a good photograph’ and said that a good photograph is like an icing in the cake. He also stated that photographer captures moments and what you photograph now is your signature which will go on living for a long time. The future generation will reflect back on the moments you have captured, he added.
He further added that he is looking forward to work with the department and to set up a film studio which will have Naga film directors and actors and a film studio of our own version. He also added that with the cooperation of the department, a film studio will be set up very soon.
Director, IPR, Limawati Ao who also spoke on the occasion, said that IPR is one of the few departments who could achieve its set targets as part of the 100 days program of Progressive Democratic Alliance (PDA) Government of Nagaland within the stipulated time. Mentioning some of the department's achievements, he said IPR website is one of the best websites in the state. He also said the department already has interactive website, Naga news mobile app, Facebook and twitter accounts to disseminate information of news and events of daily happenings to all the nook and corner of the state and thereby receiving positive comments from its readers. The department has already installed biometric system in the Directorate in order to check the regularity of its officials and staff, he informed.
He also informed that a booklet on ‘important schemes for welfare of citizens’ is being released in all Naga languages. The book is a compilation of some important schemes/programmes undertaken by various departments for the welfare of the citizens which will be beneficial for those living in interior part of the state, he added. He further stated that the department has taken action to verify pensioners of the department and the complete report has been submitted to the finance department. Also the department has also updated the civil list and linked it with Aadhaar.
The Director also expressed appreciation to language translators and officer incharge Joint Director, IPR, Dzüvinuo Theünuo for timely completion of their assignment in record time. He said the booklet contains various welfare schemes interpreted in 16 different tribal dialects would be of great help particularly, the downtrodden and people domiciled in rural areas.
The programme was chaired by Deputy Director, Asangla Imsong. Earlier, the Advisor released the booklets on ‘Important schemes for welfare of citizens’ in all Naga languages which was translated by the language translators of DIPR.
DIPR stated in a report that the resource person of the photography workshop was Suchamayang Kichu assisted by Moro Longchar. The training focused on concept of photography interspersed with mostly practical sessions. Training certificates were given to all the participants by the Advisor.
