Photo exhibition, competition marks the day

A confluence of photo exhibition and photography competition marked World Photography Day today in Kohima under the banner of the Photography Club, Kohima.
This year, in the 3rd edition, photography competition under various unique themes was earlier announced under which entries, a photo exhibition was set up at D'cafe, Kohima.
Having over 80 entries, the categories included Culturally Yours- photographs based on traditional shawls. In the Wedding Photography - The Storyteller category had 5-7 photos in a series of each entry. School Category competition was open for school students in schools.
What also stood out was that almost all the photographs were captured in and around Nagaland.
Speaking to the club’s President, Suchumayang Kichu said that the club has embarked on "promoting and encouraging our photographers."
Kichu said the club has been open to membership without limiting to people who professionally pursue it, but also people who love photography, have passion for it and takes it as a hobby.
The winners of the Culturally yours - the shawl were Neirietounuo Miasalhou, Tshetsholo Naro and Visiesotuo Meyase. In the wedding category, the winners were Kezevito Viswentso, Aren Quins and Tosp Phom. In the School Category competition Edin Chungdok, Thujosayi Rhakho and Aowati Aier were the winners. All the winners received cash prizes and certificates. The competitions were adjudged by Zhazo Miachio, Vitoto Sakhrie and Suchumayang Kichu.
The criteria of judging included exposure, composition, creativity, originality, storytelling and theme.
