Phusachodümi Students’ Union holds 71st general session

Kohima, December 29 (MExN): The 71st general session of the Phusachodümi Students’ Union (PSU) was held at Dzüyi Cezu, Phusachodu village on December 28. Küdecho Khamo, Advisor for CAWD & Taxes, graced the event as the special guest.

In his address, Khamo emphasised the importance for students to contribute to society and foster a genuine love for it. He encouraged students to become valuable assets and contributors to societal progress, highlighting that individual goodness might have limited impact, but a collectively good society can achieve much more. He stressed the need for an upright society, calling for the cultivation of honesty and hard work to eradicate societal shortcomings.

Khamo congratulated Vekhosa Chakhesang for being inducted into the Indian Police Service (IPS) as a cadet, alongside other achievers who brought honour to the village.

He also spoke about the competitive nature of the modern world, advising students to choose a profession and commit to excelling in it. He emphasized the importance of hard work as the pathway to success in a competitive environment, emphasizing the values of decision-making, determination, and perseverance. Touching upon the significance of willpower (translated as "to" in chokri), Khamo highlighted the crucial role of a strong mindset in achieving success in life.

In the presidential address, PSU President, Shenieta Cürhah congratulated all students who completed their academic year in 2023, expressing hope for continued success. He advised parents to refrain from discussing politics in front of students, focusing instead on their academic pursuits, while encouraging students to set specific educational goals.

Earlier, the session commenced with a prayer by Rev Vevotso Theluo, followed by welcoming remarks from Vehüpa Rose, chairman of VCC, a folk tune by Phusachodümi Youth Society, and concluded with a benediction by Vengotsolu Chuzho, women pastor at Phusachodümi Baptist Church.
