Picto to work for change and development

DIMAPUR, APRIL 21 (MExN): A Thanksgiving programme for Picto Shohe, MLA from 32 A/C Atoizu was held on April 19 at Atoizu Town. 

A press note informed that Shohe expressed his deepest gratitude to the people of the constituency for electing him as their representative to the 12th Nagaland Legislative Assembly and sought cooperation from “citizens who could not vote for him.” Thanking God, Er. Picto also expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister and President of the NPF for acknowledging his victory and making an inclusive government for the people. 

He stated that his top most priority is to bring changes in the constituency since the “constituency has been neglected for quite a long time when it comes to developmental activities.” He also said that he would serve the people and not rule them. He further urged upon the area people to cooperate with him and give an integrated effort for all round development of the area.

Expounding on the activities that he has been pursuing as an MLA for nearly two months, he informed that many proposals have been placed before the government  for development in the constituency. Picto added that he has been working for the upgraded Khelhoshe Polytechnic Atoizu(KPA) to fully function as a degree college as soon as possible. He further informed that the construction of the new Govt. high School building in Atoizu is in the process as it is in dire need of immediate attention. Picto informed that the school will be celebrating golden jubilee next year.

The programme was chaired by Zhehoshe Aye, President, Independent Party 32 A/C Atoizu while the welcome speech was delivered by Khehoto Chishi, President, Atoizu Area G.B. Association. A Thanks giving prayer was conducted by Rev. Dr. Joshua Rochill, Executive Secretary, SBAK, Aizuto and the vote of thanks was delivered by Zhehoto Chophy, Chief Adviser, IND Party, 32 A/C Atoizu. Short speeches were delivered by Nihoto Assumi, G.B; Hotoi Zhimo, G.B; Vuxuto Achumi, G.B; Hovikhe Aye, G.B and Hukuto Khulu, G.B. The programme was attended by the ADC Atoizu, EAC Akuhaito, G.Bs, elders, party workers and well-wishers.
