DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 1 (MExN): Pilgrim Higher Secondary, Dimapur held its Sports Meet on October 26 and 27.The meet, lasting two days, was packed with several lively events. Graced by the Vishal Chauhan (IPS) ACP, West Police Station as chief guest, he pointed out the importance of being physically fit, mentally alert and spiritually high. The opening ceremony was held on October 26. The ceremony consisted of March Past with contingents comprising of students of four different houses; namely the Purple Faclons, the Green Hornets, the Yellow Dolphins and the Pink Panther as well as the NCC cadets. Among others, there was also a Bhangra dance and Choral presentation. The sports events kick started with the 100 m sprint by the senior boys, followed by numerous other sports inclusive of 200, 400 and 800 m races, Long Jump, Shot Put, Dressing up the Couple Race, Bucket Race for the juniors, to name a few. The games continued onto the second day against a pleasant weather with more events such as the Relay Race, Sack Race etc. Former teacher Athiubo Kaurinta 2nd O/C, Sub Urban Police Station, Dimapur was the Guest of Honor to conclude the sports meet. Ultimately, the Green Hornets emerged the Champions of Pilgrim’s 29th Annual Sports Meet through their dedication and hardwork, winning the well earned title of the ‘Champion House’. Following the prize distribution, the Principal of the school was handed the school’s dehoisted flag, declaring the end of the sports meet.
