Pinnacle Unscripted wins Phek Short Film Competition

Phek, December 7 (MExN): Pinnacle Unscripted team from Meluri Town was adjudged the winner of the short film competition held under the theme, "Elimination of Violence Against Women" under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP). 

The results of the competition, held as a part of 16 days activism against gender based violence (November 25 to December 10) under the aegis of District Administration & DLCW- Mahila Shakti Kendra (DA & DLCW-MSK), BBBP, Phek, was announced on December 7.

According to a press release from DA & DLCW-MSK, Phek, the competition was held in order to spread awareness and message about elimination of violence against women and gender equality to the common masses of the district and the state through means of social media (YouTube). 

The entries were evaluated on the basis of relatability to the theme, creativity, videography, screenplay and directions. 

For viewers’ choice award, the selection was done by the DA & DLCW-MSK Phek team based on concept, storyline, plot, effectiveness of the message, and demonstration of their ability to generate public awareness.

Pinnacle Unscripted team, with the winning movie titled, "The Abuse," will be awarded Rs 15,000 along with the certificate. 

"Take a Stand Against Domestic Violence" by Mewete & team was declared the runner-up and will receive Rs 12,000. 

For viewers’ choice award winner Veyoh Omnis with the title, "Elimination of Violence Against Women" will be awarded Rs 10,000. 

The judges of the competition were Vishü Rita Korcha, Journalist and Founder of PenThrill Publication House; Vevozo Vero, Freelancer Cinematographer and also winner of Hornbill international Photography Fest 2019; and Zhokhoi Chüzho Actor, Founder & Director of BZ Entertainment and a founding member of Dreamz Unlimited. 

The competition was limited to inhabitants of Phek district and nine teams participated.

The short films received for the competition were uploaded on the official YouTube channel, "DLCW MSK Phek Nagaland" and they attracted more than 1,30,000 views in the span of a week, the release added.
