Live webcasting held at KVK Phek, Mon
Phek, March 17 (MExN): Webcasting on Prime Minister’s address in Krishi Unnati Mela 2018 was organised by KVK Phek at the KVK conference Hall, Porba on March 17.
KVK Phek in a press release said that the programme started with a sensitization of Krishi Unnati Mela and importance of agriculture as the main highlight of the event by Dr. Hannah Krujia, ACTO-Agronomy. While a presentation of agriculture workshop on Energy Conservation under Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) was delivered by Dr. T Esther Longkumer, ACTO-Soil Science where she elaborated about the simple diesel saving tips for tractor, pumps and irrigation through solar power for agriculture purpose. She also mentioned about the harmful effects of crop residue burning on human health, plants, animals and its effect on climate change.
A live show of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to exhibition stall and address to farmers in Krishi Unnati Mela 2018 at New Delhi was shown through web link http/webcast.gov.in/agriculture to the participants. Altogether 54 students and farmers participated in the webcast programme.
In Mon district, Krishi Vigyan Kendra Mon organized live webcast of Prime Minister’s programme at KVK Office, Aboi. The programme was chaired by Senior Scientist and Head, KVK, Mon, Dr. R. Mezhatsu, stated a press release.
During the programme, ‘Agriculture workshop on Energy Conservation’ was presented by Sr. Scientist & Head while Dr. Paihem Michui, Asst. Chief Tech. Officer (Ani.Sc.) delivered on the topic ‘Integrated farming system for doubling of farmer’s income.’ A short Kisan film was shown to the participants to encourage them followed by a healthy Farmers scientist interactive session was held wherein the queries and doubts were answered and cleared by the resource persons.
Altogether, 192 participants representing from Agriculture Department of the district, Pensioners Union, Social Organizations, NGOs, Village level institutions and progressive farmers from Farmers Club, SHGs attended the programme. Earlier the programme began with an invocation prayer by. Nokpho Konyak, Pastor Ngangching Village Baptist Church, and was concluded with a vote of thanks by S .Monyu, Office Supt. cum Acct.
