PM desires Naga solution within three month, alludes NSCN (IM)

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 7 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) today alluded that Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi is committed to resolve the Indo-Naga political issue within three months.
In a letter to the PM, NSCN (IM) General Secretary, Th Muivah and Chairman, Q Tuccu stated “We are happy to learn from RN Ravi, the Interlocutor, at the formal talk on July 26 that you are committed to resolving the Indo-Naga political problem within a three-month's time.” It also congratulated Modi on his re-election as PM in the recent national elections.
While stating that the NSCN (IM) remains committed towards working out an honourable solution to the Naga political issue, it noted that there are still “core issues like flag and constitution” which are yet to be agreed upon between the two parties.
The NSCN (IM) further felt that the commitment given by successive Prime Ministers of India has been “dishonored.” These commitments include assurances that talk would be at the highest level; venue of the talk would be outside India, in a third country; and without any pre-condition.
“We have come to India on the invitation of the Prime Minister of India and several rounds of talks have been successfully held and the 3rd August 2015 Framework Agreement was signed in your presence. However, we are surprised that the talk is now reduced to a mere Governor's level,” it noted.
It meanwhile acknowledged that both parties have been “patiently negotiating for the last 22 years and we are committed to working out an honorable solution.” The NSCN (IM) also informed the Prime Minister that “recent changes and developments have created confusion and doubt in the mind of our people if an honorable political solution can be arrived at.”
