PM SHRI GHS Thahekhu wins Nagaland ASDC-2024

Kohima, October 27 (MExN): The Annual (State Level) Science Drama Competition (ASDC) was held at Innovation Hub-Nagaland Science Centre, Dimapur today under the theme, 'Science & Technology for the Benefit of mankind.' 

PM SHRI Government High School Thahekhu won the Nagaland ASDC-2024. The winning school will represent the State at the Zonal Level, North-East Zone Science Drama Competition which is to be held at National Science Centre, Guwahati on November 14.

2nd Position was bagged by Little Star Hr Sec School, Dimapur and 3rd position was bagged by Riverbelt School Nagarjan Dimapur.

Anitoka S Holo of Rincho Academy was adjudged Best Actor, Mana S Sharma of PM SHRI GHS Thahekhu bagged Best Actress and Kekhriesatuo Akashe Z Yhome was adjudged Best Director and Best Scripwriter.  

The event was graced by Bendang Walling, theatre practitioner and filmmaker, an Alumni of National School of Drama- New Delhi and Artistic Director of  Hill Theatre, Nagaland; as the  Chief Judge.

Science Drama Competition is an annual event organised across the country with a primary aim to showcase juvenile artistic creativity and to use medium of drama as a potent tool for dealing with socio-scientific issues of current importance in the society. The Competition is organised and managed by National Council of Science Museums.  The Nagaland ASDC is sponsored and organised by the Department of Science & Technology, Government of Nagaland.

Mokokchung District Bharat Scouts and Guides celebrated 75 years today at P. Shilu Ao Memorial Park , Mokokchung. Minister for Rural Development and State Institute of rural development, Metsubo Jamir maintained that Scouts & Guides movement entails values of  loyalty, courage, kindness and integrity which are the very fabric of our lives. He said challenges and responsibilities of youths in present world are plenty and complex. Metsubo, therefore told Scouts and guides that their responsibilities are defined by their willingness to become examples in the communities and create brighter future for our society.

Earlier, in the programme, the welcome address was delivered by Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung & President Mokokchung District Bharat Scouts & Guides, Thsuvisie Phoji, shorts speeches were delivered by V.K Shah, State Commissioner (S) Nagaland State Bharat scouts & Guides, Sentinenla, DEO & DCC (G) Mokokchung and Moajenba, Former Scout. Historical account of Mokokchung District BS & G was presented by Lipomar Lkr DOC (S) during the program. BS & G of Ladybird School, presented a special item marking the occasion.

The program was chaired by Sentinenla, ADOC (G)while the Invocation was pronounced by Rev. ponen longchar, Pastor MTBA and the benediction prayer by Rev. Talijungla, Associate Pastor UBA.

On the occasion, the chief guest also released the Jubilee Souvenir in presence of host of officials, state BS&G officials from other district, District BS&G officials and Scouts & guides from Schools under Mokokchung district.
