CHESSORE, FEBRUARY 13 (MExN): A one-day awareness camp on the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, under the Ministry of MSME, Government of India, was held at the Chessore Village Council Hall, Shamator, on February 13. The camp, organised by the MSME Development and Facilitation Office Dimapur, in collaboration with the Department of Industries and Commerce and District Administration, aimed to raise awareness of the scheme, onboard villages to the PMV portal, and enroll artisans.

At the cmap, Inspector of District Industries Centre, Tuensang, Thungdi Chang, provided an orientation on the scheme, followed by a presentation by the State PMU.  The PM Vishwakarma Scheme, launched on September 17, 2023, aims to support traditional artisans and craftspeople by upskilling them, providing access to high-quality training, upgraded tools, and collateral-free credit.  The scheme currently focuses on trades such as carpentry, masonry, and tailoring, though other trades remain temporarily on hold at the centre, informed a press release.
