PMEGP awareness program held at Kiphire

Kiphire, September 18 (MExN): An awareness program on the Prime Minister's Employment Generation Program (PMEGP), Financial Literacy Camp (FLC), and Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme (EAP) was conducted at the Deputy Commissioner's Conference Hall in Kiphire. 

The event aimed at fostering socio-economic development in the district by promoting entrepreneurial activities.

The program was chaired by Vitsumong Y, Credit Coordinator of Swavalamban Connect Kendra (SCK), Kiphire. He introduced the work profile of SCK in the district and initiated the session with opening remarks from Takatemjen Pongen, EAC Kiphire HQ and Nodal Officer SCK. Pongen emphasized the importance of strategic planning before starting a business and assured support for individuals in need.

Veswuvo Phesa, Functional Manager of the District Industries Centre, detailed the PMEGP scheme, including eligibility criteria and the application process. He pledged full cooperation to ensure the program's successful implementation.

T. Thripili Sangtam, Centre Manager of SCK Kiphire, led the FLC and EAP sessions, focusing on budgeting, business management, and problem-solving. Sangtam encouraged participants to become job creators rather than job seekers. The event concluded with an open discussion, allowing attendees to clarify their doubts.
