PMEGP beneficiaries under Zunheboto dist appeals

Zunheboto, June 16 (MExN): The Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) under Zunheboto district has appealed the Chief Manager SBI Zunheboto district and Assistant General Manager SBI regional office Mokokchung to take note of the grievances of the beneficiaries as genuine and immediately release the loan amount to the entrepreneurs who are facing untold hardship and unable to execute the project works due to non-payment of the said amount.

A press note issued by PMEGP beneficiaries Association President Shikato Sema stated that the ‘beneficiaries were selected through the interview by the district task force on September 11, 2015 but the beneficiaries were made to suffer untold hardship and spent a lot of money to approach the bank on several occasion.’

However, the bank ignored the grievances of the beneficiaries despite the ‘best effort and assurances given by the beneficiaries to the bank to put the surety guarantor against each beneficiary in case of default to recover the loan.’

The press note further stated that the beneficiaries can no longer tolerate ‘the step motherly treatment and will resort to our own course of action in case the concerned department fail to release the amount within five days and the responsible authority will solely be held responsible.’
