PMKK Mkg centre to train vulnerable youths and dropouts

Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra (PMKK) was officially inaugurated at Mokokchung on February 21 by MLA Kuzholuzo Azo Nienu at the Skill India Training Center in Mokokchung under the Prime Minister’s flagship skill training and development programme. The Center was established by Empower Pragati Vocational and Staffing Pvt Ltd, a National Skill Development Corporation training partner company. 

 


The PMKK center in Mokokchung will offer three vocational courses namely, CRM-BPO, make-up artist and room attendant trainings. The programme targets vulnerable youths and school and college dropouts by providing both training and employment. The whole training process is free of cost and each PMKK center trains a minimum of 1000 trainees a year. 

 


Speaking on the occasion, Azo Nienu commended that the PMKK Skill Development program under Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship as a very good initiative of the government of India and appreciated the same for transforming the lives of the youth. Comparing life as a journey with many challenges along the way, he emphasized that the youth must undergo many trainings in life to be well-equipped to overcome obstacles and to survive.

 


He also encouraged the trainees to try and strive towards becoming entrepreneurs instead of just becoming employees at a juncture where employment at the government sector has reached a saturation point. He expressed his happiness in knowing that the center not only caters to the need of the people of Mokokchung District alone but also to those from the other districts as well.

 


Placement Officer of the center, Imtirenba Changkiri, in his speech expressed gratitude to the officers at the Head Office in Delhi for showing leniency and special consideration towards Mokokchung center while setting up the same, without which the center would have never happened. He stated that the center has already enrolled about 600 trainees already and has provided employment to more than 150 successful candidates. He also expressed his optimism that the center would become a major training and employment hub not only for the district but also for the neighboring districts and render help to the society in tackling the unemployment problem in the state.

 


Akangnungsang Ao, Editor of Ao Milen, also spoke on the occasion and encouraged the trainees to be more diligent and hardworking. He also cautioned the trainees not to be swayed away by worldly pleasures and glamour, but to plan and save resources for the future.

 


Earlier in the program, the Center Manager, Imkongakum Longchar, welcomed the guests and outlined the programs under PMKK. The program was chaired by Sentinaro, CRM-BPO trainer. Imlikokba shared his testimony as a trainee and Shilula, Associate Pastor (Women), Mokokchung Town Baptist Church pronounced the dedicatory prayers.
