PMKVY Solar Panel training in YouthNet concludes

Kohima, June 23 (MExN): A certification programme for solar training was held at YouthNet Office, Kohima. The Director of Department of New and Renewable Energy, Er TS Angami, attended the event as the chief guest.  

This programme was under the PMKVY training scheme with 2E Knowledge Ventures Pvt. Ltd., Hyderabad and YouthNet as partners. The month-long training was attended by 20 participants who were interested in solar panel installation and maintenance, and setting up and designing solar plants. The assessment of the PMKVY Solar Panel Training in YouthNet, Kohima resulted in the highest pass percentage in the country with all the 20 participants getting certified (100%). Each participant got a Government of India approved certificate and skill card.  

The YouthNet training centre has also been selected amongst the top 100 centres selected for PMKVY for 2015/2016.  

Er TS Angami congratulated the certified participants and mentioned that the Department would like to encourage more local entrepreneurs to get into the renewable energy domain as there is a huge scope of growth, and highlighted that solar installations need maintenance and the state currently lack people with the skills. On behalf of the Department, he offered to share the schemes and subsidy related to the solar energy and to assist those who wish to set up their own enterprises in the field.  

The team at YouthNet shared with the certified trainees about placement opportunities in Hyderabad and encouraged them to avail the same, get work experience, and eventually set up their own firms in Nagaland.  

Atul Chimle from 2E Knowledge Ventures Pvt Ltd. thanked the Department of NRE and YouthNet, and said that the team plans to bring more training programs such as mobile handset repair, retail management and automobile repair.
