Pughoboto, July 15 (DIPR): The monthly Pughoboto Sub-Division Planning & Development Board (SDPDB) meeting was held at the customary court hall, Pughoboto on July 15.
SDPO, Pughoboto Akihito gave a PowerPoint presentation on police stations under Pughoboto division, including the Pughoboto Police Station which became full-fledged in 1973 and Ghathashi Town Police Station.
Referring to the police stations’ crime and conviction record from 2015 -16, the SDPO said that the Pughoboto and Ghathashi conviction rates were 98% and 100% respectively. He informed that Pughoboto Police Station’s regular case rate was 7 and Ghathashi Town Police Station was Nil; charge sheet in Pughoboto was 6/1 and Ghathashi was 0.5. Law and order overview is normal, he said. The SDPO further highlighted that the 70-year-long land dispute between Iphonumi and Khutsami was finally settled by erecting boundary stone on April 20, 2016.
The house bid farewell to SDAO Toivi, who retired after attaining 35 years of service. ADC Pughoboto, Avelu Ruho, who spoke on behalf of the members, said that the officer was pro-active and had taken up some projects during his short stay at Pughoboto. She wished the retiring officer good health. Meanwhile, Toivi pointed out that he received two awards during his service and acknowledged the members for their support.
The agenda on clean Pughoboto was discussed. The project will carry a cash award of five lakh from the LADF. The members selected to go to all the villages for verification included SDO (C) as Convener, APRO, SDEO, SDO PHE,DCVO, Sr.MO, Functional manager SDAO, BDO, and CDPO as members. The first visit is tentatively fixed for the first week of August 2016.
Pughoboto has potential in horticulture productions; therefore, the house also discussed opening of SDHO office at Pughoboto, which was approved to be forwarded to the authority concerned. The meeting also deliberated on the establishment of VH center at Chisholimi which was jointly submitted by the five neighbouring villages. The house expressed happiness to the government for creation of new PWD (R&B) Division with its Headquarter at Pughoboto through re-deployment and adjustment from the existing strength headed by Executive Engineer.
The board also welcomed new member, Senior MO Philip.
