Police arrest two in Pughoboto

Pughoboto, March 7 (DIPR): Two persons were injured in a vehicle accident and later apprehended by the police in Pughoboto on March 4, 2016. The vehicle rolled down about 120 feet below the road near PWD colony, Pughoboto.

  The vehicle was speeding away towards Zunheboto via Pughoboto from the Pughoboto Police team which had signaled to stop the vehicle (gypsy bearing No NL07-0682) at the MVCP checking at Lazami junction. The gypsy rolled down the road while being chased by the police. They were immediately picked up for interrogation and rushed to the hospital for medical aid with security.   Meanwhile, the SDPO said that his team found 29 cases of MC rum and 3 cases of beer in the vehicle.   In this connection, an FIR was lodged with the Pughoboto Police Station to arrest the accused persons under section 44 of NLPT. The two apprehended persons have been identified as Pikato Awomi (22) and Puto (23). They have been sent to police custody in Zunheboto.
