Police Commemoration day was observed at SP Office Noklak on October 21. General salute was taken by SP Noklak Dr Pritpal Kaur IPS. Names of the Martyr's roll were read by Chinese Chakhesang, ASP Noklak. Afsos parade was commanded by Shri N.Phom,JA, RHQ SP Office and Nishan toli was headed by Hav Monglon. Wreaths were laid down by Officers of Noklak Police, 14IRB, SB and all other security agencies.

Nagaland Director General of Police (DGP) T John Longkumer today opined that police is a public service and affects a larger section of society more seriously than any other government agency.
He was addressing the Police Commemoration Day at Police New Reserve Ground, Phesama on October 21. This day is annually observed across the country to remember the supreme sacrifices of not only those killed in Ladakh on October 21, 1959 and to acknowledge the sacrifices of all Indian policemen and women who laid down their lives in the line of duty.
Longkumer while informing that altogether this year, 264 Policemen all over India laid down their lives in the service of the nation; he paid respects to the brave and valiant police personnel who sacrificed their lives to protect the integrity and security of the country.
He mentioned that among Nagaland Police Officers and men, 1 police personnel, Lance Naik Y Vikekhu Sema of the 8th NAP died while performing duty in New Delhi.
He said that we are trained to protect life and to give life when necessary however added that a human life is a supreme sacrifice. He added that in a thriving democracy, the role of police is perceived to be the preserver of law and order.
“As India celebrates its 75 years of Independence, it is realized that the ethos of policing has to transform from enforcement to enablement, we must take up a new role as a partner in the development process.”
The DGP asserted that it is not only a day of remembrance of the sacrifices but a day to renew pledge to serve the people, to secure and maintain public order, safeguard the internal security and contribute to the development of our nation.
Several police officers laid wreath at the cenotaph and paid respect to policemen all over India have laid down their lives this year while maintaining law and order, preventing anti-socials and countering terrorists.
The Police Commemoration Day Parade was led by Parade Commander ABSI Paul Chawang of Kohima DEF, No. 1 Platoon of 4th NAP led by Platoon Commander ABSI Chasel Angami, No 2 Platoon of Kohima DEF led by Platoon Commander ABSI Vesune Tetseo, Brass band led by Avildar Ayo Sakhrie, ad Nishan Toli Commander ABSI Neibau Mepfhou.
