Police constable found dead in Kohima; KLH demands swift action

Kohima, September 25 (MExN): The Kohima Lotha Hoho (KLH) has expressed deep concern over what it termed as the 'murder' of Zuchanbemo Tungoe, a constable of the Department of Enforcement Forces (DEF), Tuensang, currently attached to the Crime Branch, PHQ, Kohima.

The constable, a resident of New Changsu Village under Wokha district, was found dead around 6:30 AM on September 24 on the two-lane road at Lerie, Kohima. His body bore a gunshot wound to the head, and a firearm was reportedly found beside him, the KLH stated. 

In this connection, it questioned how a law enforcement personnel could be killed in such a gruesome manner and appealed to investigating agencies to apprehend the perpetrators immediately.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister (Home and Border Affairs) Y Patton has directed the Kohima Police to expedite the investigation and ascertain all details leading to the cause of Tungoe’s death.
