Dimapur, September 21 (MExN): Police Ki Paathshala, awareness cum interactive programme aimed at creating better understanding of the functioning of police force in the state was organized at SD Jain Higher Secondary School (SDJHSS), Dimapur on September 21 in the School Auditorium under the initiative of Dimapur Police with Soniya Singh IPS, IGP (Range) as the resource person.
SDJHSS Principal Reji Abraham in a press release said that during her interaction with the students, Soniya Singh highlighted the various functions and duties undertaken by the Police Force in the State. She regretted that there is a lot of ill will and misunderstanding towards the police by the general public. She said that it is important to have better interactions to change the perception of the public towards the Police.
“Police is dutifully working round the clock which is not understood by the public. She encouraged students to have aim in life. One should decide when they are in high school level itself what career they want to pursue after class 12,” she said.
The lady police officer also cautioned students the importance of having responsible conduct while using social media and internet.
Reji Abraham, Principal, expressed gratitude to Sonia Singh, IPS and her team of officers for taking such an initiative to reach out to the students in order to remove some of the fear and wrong perceptions about the police force by the students. Om Prakash Sethi, President Jain Samaj and Ajay Sethi, Secretary, School Managing Committee was present on the occasion.
