Police officers trained in preparation of polls in Nagaland, Meghalaya & Tripura

Kohima, October 14 (MExN): The International Institute of Democracy and Election Management (IIIDEM) under Election Commission of India organised a virtual training programme for police officers in connection to the forthcoming General Election to the Legislative Assembly of Nagaland, Meghalaya and Tripura on October 14.

A press release from V Shashank Shekhar, IAS, Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland stated that these police officers will act as State Level Master Trainers (SLMTs)/resource person for down the line training in their respective States. 

Some of the topics covered in the training were Assessment of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) requirement and State Police deployment, categorisation of polling booths and vulnerability assessment, security arrangements for pre-poll, polling day and post poll period.
