Dimapur, December 22 (MExN): Dimapur Police today recovered the body of an unidentified man below a flyover bridge near Traffic Control here.
Dy Commissioner of Police (Crime)/PRO, Dimapur in a press release said they received information at 9:46 AM, at East Police Station from Control Room, Dimapur Police Commisionerate informing on the body.
On receiving the information, the duty party rushed to the place of occurrence and found one non-local male aged around 30 to 35 years (approx) lying dead in a supine position with face facing right side, the officer stated.
An inquest conducted at the scene in the presence of witnesses suggested the man was a homeless beggar. While the exact cause of death is yet to be confirmed, it is suspected to be due to illness.
The body, clad in a long pant with grey shorts, a black full-sleeve jacket, a grey sweater, and a metallic earring on the right ear, has been shifted to the District Hospital morgue for post-mortem examination and identification.
