Dimapur, March 17 (MExN): Dimapur, March 17 (MExN): Dimapur Police have sought public assistance to trace the family members of a deceased male patient whose unclaimed body is kept at the District Hospital Dimapur.
According to a press release issued by the Dy Commissioner of Police (Crime)/PRO, Dimapur, a letter was received at East Police Station on March 15 from the Emergency Medical Officer regarding the death of a patient, reportedly identified as Vicky (50), whose full identity remains unverified.
The deceased had been admitted to the hospital and was undergoing treatment with a provisional diagnosis of lower respiratory tract infection (LRTI) and alcoholic liver disease (ALD).
He succumbed on March 14 at around 4:00 PM despite efforts by the medical team, the letter said.
Following the information, police personnel visited the hospital and found that the body remained unclaimed. After completion of legal formalities, the body has been kept at the District Hospital mortuary for identification, the release added.
