Police summon individuals linked to loan fraud in Dimapur

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 2 (MExN): In response to reports circulating on social media and local news channels, the Dimapur Police have summoned two individuals, Sungty Tungoe, also known as Awala, and Chipeno Murry, for questioning to investigate the situation further.

According to a press release from the Public Relations Officer and Deputy Commissioner of Police, both individuals admitted during the inquiry that they had issued loans to multiple victims in exchange for security deposits. They reportedly executed Deeds of Agreement on government stamp papers for four unregistered societies- Limuqho Society, Royal Society, Niquomi Society, and Rural Society.

Further investigation revealed that these societies do not exist, and the agreements were fraudulent. Victims who deposited security amounts have yet to receive their loan funds. In light of these findings, a case has been registered under the relevant sections of the law, and the two individuals are currently in police custody for ongoing investigation. The Dimapur Police has urged any victims of this scam to come forward and report to the West Police Station in Dimapur.
